Safety
The health, safety and welfare of all the people who work, learn or visit Highgate Private School are of fundamental importance. We aim to provide a safe, secure and pleasant working and learning environment for everyone.
To ensure that the school is a safe environment, we draw upon the advice of the Ministry of Education, the Fire Department, the Civil Defense, architects and engineers and other consultants and professionals. We take all the relevant preventive and repressive safety measures to protect and secure the pupils, the staff, our premises and the equipment.
We often carry out risk assessments and fire drills. Inspection of relevant fire prevention and firefighting equipment including fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and fire alarm, is held regularly.
Fire and Earthquake regulations, procedures and evacuation instructions are displayed prominently in all classrooms and rooms. The Board of Directors, the Headteacher and the General Manager are responsible to inform of new regulations regarding health and safety.
